Texas A&M Engineering honors faculty at annual meeting

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M Engineering honored faculty and introduced new faculty members at the Fall Faculty Meeting today (Oct. 12) in the Richardson Petroleum Building at Texas A&M.

Dr. G. Kemble Bennett, Texas A&M vice chancellor and dean of engineering, introduced new faculty, announced award winners and delivered a "state of the college" address at the annual meeting.

"Texas A&M Engineering is fortunate to have an exceptional group of men and women among its faculty, at all ranks and levels," Bennett said. "An excellent education begins with excellent faculty, and ours are among some of the finest, anywhere. This, combined with the unprecedented growth of our faculty over the next five years, will help ensure Texas A&M remains one of the best engineering schools in the nation."

Recipients of the Association of Former Students College Level Awards were Dr. David M. Ford, associate professor and holder of the Kenneth R. Hall Professorship in Chemical Engineering in the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering; Dr. Make McDermott, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Dr. Angie Price, associate professor in the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution; and Dr. Narasimha Reddy, professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

* Dr. John W. Lee, professor and holder of the L.F. Peterson Chair in Petroleum Engineering, Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering

E.D. Brockett Professorship Award
* Dr. Jianer Chen, professor, Department of Computer Science
* Dr. Othon Rediniotis, associate professor, Department of Aerospace Engineering
