Former NAE president Wulf to speak Nov. 28

Dr. William A. Wulf, AT&T Professor of Computer Science at the University of Virginia and former president of the National Academy of Engineering, is the featured speaker at Texas A&M Engineering's Department of Computer Science's Distinguished Lecturer Series.

Wulf will present his talk, "Supporting U.S. Innovation and Prosperity in the 21st Century," Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 4:10 p.m. at the H.R. Bright Building's Frank J. Malina '34 Auditorium (Room 124). Wulf will quickly review the National Academies report, "Rising Above the Gathering Storm," and will point out a number of other areas where the laws, policies, regulations and institutions that support innovation need to be rethought in terms of how they do (or don't) match the needs of future technologies.

The lecture is open to the public and will be followed by a reception in the auditorium's foyer.

For more information on Dr. Wulf's presentation, visit the computer science department's Distinguished Lecturer Series Web page.
